Ghana international Ernest Nuamah has finalised his transfer to French giants Olympique Lyonnais from Belgian club R.W.D. Molenbeek.

The 19-year-old forward joined Molenbeek on August 30 from Danish side Nordsjaelland, before being immediately loaned to Lyon for the rest of the season.

There is reportedly an option to purchase an option worth €25 million, plus €4.5 million in potential add-ons, in favour of Lyon.

“It is no secret that there has been great interest in Ernest after the great development that both he and the team have gone through, and not least the strong performances that have been delivered,” said Jan Laursen, sporting director of the Superliga team, said on the club’s website.

“We have been clear about our ambitions for this season and therefore also set a very high bar in relation to a possible transfer in this window. In this connection, an agreement was eventually reached with more than one club, and after talks with the various clubs, Ernest has been clear that he wants to continue his development at Olympique Lyonnais.”

Nuamah spent one-and-half years with Nordsjaelland’s first team after being promoted from the club’s academy and scored 21 goals from 49 matches across all competitions.

He is a former Ghana under-23 international who has one cap for the West African country’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
