Nigerian Football Federation has announced that Jose Peseiro has signed a new contract and disclosed his mandate.


The Portuguese tactician’s previous deal expired at the end of June this year and he has now been handed a contract extension after guiding the Super Eagles to the 2023 AFCON finals.


“The Nigeria Football Federation and Mr. Jose Santos Peseiro have reached an agreement for the latter to continue in his role as Head Coach of the Senior Men National Team of Nigeria, Super Eagles,” a statement read.


“As stipulated in the original contract, drawn in May 2022, the Portuguese has been handed the mandate to lead the Super Eagles to, at the minimum, the semi-finals of the 34th Africa Cup of Nations finals taking place in Cote d’Ivoire in a few months.”


The NFF also revealed the Super Eagles squad set to face Sao Tome and Principe in their final 2023 AFCON qualifier on September 10 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
