Central African Republic (CAR) head coach Raoul Savoy didn’t hold back in his criticism of Ghana’s style of play after their match.

Goals from Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah earned the Black Stars a 2-1 win over CAR who had opened the scoring through Louis Mafouta at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday.

Therefore, the Black Stars qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals as Group E winners while CAR failed to qualify after finishing third in the group standings.

“I’m very proud of my players. They fought the whole game. We don’t deserve to lose tonight, a draw would’ve been a fairer result,” Savoy said on Ghana Soccer Net.

“Anti-football. Ghana won 2-1 but they cannot be proud of their team because this team did not play football. We played football; we were far better, especially in the first half.”

The Spanish-Swiss tactician also raised concerns about the second goal which was netted by Nuamah, suggesting it was offside.

“I think the second goal is offside, clearly. But it’s okay, the referee is the winner. I was thinking that the referee would help you guys, and he did it,” he concluded.
