Guinea-Bissau will look to end their successful Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a high when they host Sierra Leone at Estadio 24 de Setembro on the early evening of Monday 11 September 2023.

This will be the penultimate match of the qualification tournament and the only fixture for the day.

The Djurtus secured qualification for next year’s AFCON back in June when they defeated Sao Tome & Principe 1-0 away from home, joining heavyweights Nigeria in booking a berth for the tournament.

It’s a fourth successive AFCON qualification for Guinea-Bissau, who will hope to advance beyond the group stage for the first time in the Ivory Coast early next year.

Sierra Leone, meanwhile, will finish third regardless of the result of Monday’s match, as they miss out on reaching back-to-back tournaments, having ended a 26-year absence from the AFCON finals when they competed in Cameroon in early 2022.
