Egyptian legend Amr Zaki was not the type of player who trained well according to former England star Emile Heskey.
The duo were teammates at Wigan Athletic during the 2008/09 season with Zaki on loan from Egyptian giants Zamalek.
Zaki scored 10 goals in 29 English Premier League matches during that campaign, but Heskey has revealed that the former Egypt international struggled in the rondo.
“I’ll give you a joke about Amr,” Heskey said on King Fut.
“Amr came in and you know you get like a gist of who these players are, when you come in and they do rondos, or boxes as well call them.
“And literally he couldn’t control the ball, it was embarrassing, it was so bad. Then you go on the pitch, and he’s just totally different,” the former Liverpool FC striker added.
“He’s getting hold of everything, he’s running down the wing, he’s taking people on, and then he scores an overhead kick. Do whatever you want in training.”
Zaki announced his retirement from football via his Twitter account in 2015 having netted 30 goals from 63 international matches.
