Chiefs & Arrows fail to close Sundowns gap

Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows dropped points in the DStv Premiership on Saturday with two matches taking place on the day.


Chiefs were held to a 0-0 draw by a Royal AM in a match played at the iconic FNB Stadium and the stalemate saw Amakhosi move up to the fourth spot on the league table.


The Soweto giants are 10 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, while Royal AM climbed up to the fifth spot in the standings after holding Chiefs in Johannesburg


Meanwhile, Arrows were held to a 0-0 draw by a stubborn Stellenbisch FC side in a game played at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Durban.


The draw saw Arrows remain second on the standings – seven points behind Sundowns, while Stellenbosch are now placed 10th on the table.
