Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag reserved special praise for Hannibal Mejbri, following the Tunisian’s cameo appearance against Brighton & Hove Albion.
In United’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday, Mejbri was utilized as a second-half substitute and managed to score his first goal for the club in the process.
The African midfielder provided an injection of energy to what appeared to have been a lethargic performance from the Red Devils. In getting Ten Hag stamp of approval, the Dutchman mentioned that Hannibal brought his part in the encounter.
“He did what we brought him [on] for, having an impact and bringing energy,” Ten Hag told MUTV.
“He did it. I think there were more individuals, like Diogo Dalot, [who] played very well, and Marcus Rashford had moments. Rasmus Hojlund was a threat all the time. We had some good players on the pitch.
“We were unlucky, unfortunate. We didn’t get what we were looking for and that was the result.”
