‘Salah is the best player in the world’

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson believes that Mohamed Salah is currently the best player in the world as a result of his ‘dedication and sacrifice’ to the game.

Henderson, who plies his trade for Al-Ettifaq, reserved special praise for his former teammate who was believed to be on the radar of the Saudi Pro League outfit in the recent transfer window.

Al-Ettifaq has a strong Liverpool presence currently, having Jordan and former Gini Wijnaldum on board. The team is also coached by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who was said to be keen on bringing Salah to Saudi Arabia.

Nonetheless, Henderson recently mentioned that Salah is head and shoulders above the rest in the world of football because of his consistency.

“The best player in the world from my point of view would have to be Mo Salah — 100 per cent,” Henderson said, as per Liverpool Echo.

“Maybe I am a little bit biased because he is my friend, but what I’ve seen is dedication and sacrifice.

“He’s there every single day, his consistency in his performances, the goals he scores, and as a person. For me, that’s why at the moment he is probably the best player in the world.”
