Nigerian international Ola Aina described his settling in period with Nottingham Forest as ‘smooth sailing’ after joining the club as a free agent ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Aina has been a regular feature for Forest this season as he continues to build a reputation for himself as a fan favourite at the City Ground.
After being released by Torino, Aina eventually joined Forest on a one-year deal and made his debut against Arsenal in August.
Reflecting on life at Forest, Aina mentioned that the club had been ‘good’ to him while pairing up fellow Nigerian internationals such as Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis.
“It’s been fun. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it so far,” Aina said, according to the BBC.
“The staff, the players, the city itself, it’s been really good to me so far and long may it continue.
“I was the first to arrive this summer and it was fun, I had Taiwo [Awoniyi] and Emmanuel Dennis here who I know from Nigeria, I knew Morgan [Gibbs-White] and Harry Toffolo too, so it was smooth sailing.
“The games have been tough, but I feel like for myself and the team, it’s good to see where we’re at.
“I feel like we haven’t done too bad against the bigger teams, it’s been a challenge but it’s been a good one.”
