Arsenal FC striker Eddie Nketiah is a natural replacement for Asamoah Gyan in the Ghana squad.
This is according to former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara.
This comes after the England-born player grabbed a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Sheffield United in an English Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
In an X post, he wrote “Eddie Nketiah is the natural replacement for Black Stars legend Asamoah Gyan.”
A former England youth international, Nketiah recently made his senior debut against Australia in a friendly match, but he is still eligible to feature for the Black Stars through his Ghanaian parents.
In January 2023, Nketiah was recognised for his achievement in becoming England U21s’ record goal scorer with the presentation of a commemorative golden boot.
He has scored five goals in 10 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season.
