Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has urged his side to enjoy their success, as the Brazilians continue to set the benchmark in South African football.

The Tshwane giants currently lead the way at the top of the DStv Premiership table and are aiming to bag their seventh consecutive league title.

While Downs have dominated the South African game, Mokwena and company recently bagged the first African Football League title, beating Wydad Casablanca in the final earlier this month.

Following their success in Africa, Mokwena echoed the words of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and urged his team to keep their finger on the pulse when aiming to win more titles.

“This is what Pep Guardiola was saying to Manchester City players and fans, don’t take winning for granted. Don’t get spoilt by it, enjoy it because eras come and go,” Mokwena told the Pitchside Podcast, as per Far Post.

“There is nothing wrong with an emotional connotation. You’ve got to feel something with the result, otherwise, you’ve got to question your level of investment.

“If I don’t feel the pain of defeat, there’s a problem. And if I don’t feel the excitement of the win, there’s a problem but it cannot be an obsession.”
