Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta has revealed whether Thomas Partey can come back from injury before the Premier League’s January break.

The experienced midfielder is a key player in the Ghana team, with the Black Stars set to take part in January’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

Partey has been out since last month as he nurses a muscle injury and Arteta provided an update regarding the former Atletico Madrid star, as well as Emile Rowe.

“It is a possibility but it will depend on how they evolve,” Arteta said on the club’s official website.

“Emile has been already on the pitch doing some jogging, so I don’t know how long it’s going to take.

“Normally he is a quick healer, and Thomas is the same. We have to make sure that when they come back they are at their best as well,” he added.

“We don’t want to rush them, but at the same time the team needs them because at the moment we are missing some key, key players.”

Ghana are in Group B along with Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique at the 2023 AFCON finals which will be hosted by Ivory Coast between 13 January and 11 February 2024.
