Mowbray weighs in on potential Diallo move

Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has given his thoughts on re-signing Amad Diallo on loan, as the Manchester United star makes his way back from injury.
The Ivorian suffered a knee injury during United’s pre-season preparations and is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils in the 2023/24 campaign.
Diallo, who enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with the Black Cats last season, often earned the praises of Tony Mowbray during the 2022/23 season.
Now though, it’s been reported that the Sunderland manager is open to taking the African star on-loan during the January transfer window.
“I would imagine if he’s going to be fit he’ll be going off to the Africa Cup of Nations,” Mowbray said, as per Strettnews.
“I don’t think he’d be available for the whole of January. Let’s see what the club are thinking of how we are doing by then.”
