Manchester United have confirmed that Amad Diallo has returned to full training, while the Ivory Coast star looks to shape up before the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite a promising pre-season campaign, the 21-year-old picked up a serious knee injury in July and only returned to training on the grass in October.
Now though, the skilful winger has returned to first team training at United, while also being on time to impress Côte d’Ivoire head coach Jean-Louis Gasset ahead of the upcoming 2024 AFCON.
“Amad has returned to full training with the first-team squad, as he gets back to fitness after a knee injury,” United confirmed on their official website.
It remains to be seen what the immediate future holds for the rising talent, having been linked with a return to Sunderland before the 2023/24 campaign.
Diallo proved to be a star turner for the Black Cats in the 2022/23 season, helping Tony Mowbray’s side to a 6th place finish in the English Championship.
