Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United all secured victories in Saturday’s DStv Premiership action.

Pirates headlined the day with their late kick-off win over Carling Knockout finalists TS Galaxy at the Orlando Stadium.

Deon Hotto’s fine free kick midway through the first half proved the difference, as the Buccaneers claimed a fourth win from their last five league matches and moved up to fifth place on the table – one place ahead of arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The afternoon kick-off in the Limpopo province saw Chiefs record back-to-back league wins for just the second time this season, as they edged Polokwane City 1-0 thanks to Pule Mmodi’s strike early in the second half.

In the early evening in Gqeberha, Chippa United broke a six-game winless run across all competition with a 2-0 home triumph over Golden Arrows (who have now lost five in a row across all competitions).

The Chilli Boys took all three points thanks to goals from Ronaldo Maarman and Craig Martin.

Saturday’s results added to Friday’s Cape derby, which saw Stellenbosch FC claim a 1-0 home win over Cape Town City thanks to a strike from Anicet Alain Oura.

The DStv Premiership will wrap up for the weekend with an all-KwaZulu-Natal clash clash between Royal AM and Richards Bay on Sunday 10 December.
