United close to offloading Mejbri

It’s been reported that Sevilla are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United to sign Hannibal Mejbri on loan as the 20-year-old seeks regular playing time.

As a player who often got praises from Erik Ten Hag, Mejbri struggled to break into the Dutchman’s starting XI. Following the signing of Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount, coupled with Kobbie Mainoo’s emergence, Mejbri was pushed down the pecking order in United’s midfield department.

Now though, according to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, Mejbri is close to joining Sevilla on a loan deal.

“Sevilla advancing towards agreement to sign Hannibal Mejbri on loan from Man Utd,” Ornstein said on X.

“Everton still keen but as things stands #SevillaFC offer favoured by #MUFC & 20yo.

“Deal would likely include high option to turn permanent + buy-back clause.”
