Guinea and Senegal will renew their rivalry in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group C match at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro on Tuesday.

Kick-off: 19h00 CAT


Head-to-head: The two teams have met 59 times, with Senegal having the upper hand. The Lions of Teranga have won 28 matches compared to the Syli National’s 16 wins, while 15 matches ended in a draw.


Guinea’s last three results: Syli National are unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions – recording two wins and one draw. A 2-0 win over Nigeria in a friendly match was followed by a 1-1 draw with Cameroon before they claimed a 1-0 victory over Gambia in Group C games.


Senegal’s last three results: The Lions of Teranga are also undefeated in their last three matches across all competitions having won all of them. A 1-0 win over Niger in a friendly game was followed by a 3-0 victory over Gambia and a 3-1 triumph over Cameroon in Group C matches.


Team news: Guinea will be boosted by the availability of Francos Kamano who missed the game against Gambia due to a one-match suspension. Senegal, on the other hand, will be without the suspended Abdou Diallo who picked up yellow cards in matches against Gambia and Cameroon.


Key players, Guinea: Mohamed Bayo and Aguibou Camara, who scored against Cameroon and Gambia respectively, are the players to watch out for in this Syli National team. Bayo leads the team’s attack while Camara has the ability to score goals from midfield.


Key players, Senegal:  Senegal star Sadio Mane will be oozing with confidence after scoring his first goal of the tournament against Cameroon. Lamine Camara, who grabbed a brace against Gambia, will be keen to add to his tally when he faces Guinea.
