Osimhen emerges as ‘strong’ contender to replace Mbappe

It’s been reported that Paris Saint-Germain has added Napoli star Victor Osimhen to their list of transfer targets, given Kylian Mbappe’s desire to leave the club at the end of the season.

In what was news that sent shockwaves throughout the football this week, Mbappe has reportedly told the PSG board that he intends on leaving the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Since then, Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, leaving PSG to search for top quality replacements. One of which is that of Osimhen, who has become one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers.

According to football journalist David Ornstein, PSG has identified Osimhen as a potential replacement for Mbappe in June.

“Victor Osimhen figures prominently on Paris Saint-Germain list to replace Kylian Mbappe,” Ornstein reported.

“PSG preparing for possible exit since summer + stepped up multiple discussions in January to be ready for June. 25yo Napoli striker strong contender.”
