Black Stars FC striker Mamadou Doumbia is set to take the next step in his fledgling career after signing for Championship club Watford.

The Mali youth international initially caught the eye at the 2023 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored four goals to help his team finish fourth.

Doumbia also went on to impress at the 2023 Under-17 World Cup, bagging another four goals which included a hat-trick against Uzbekistan as Mali won the bronze medal.

The 18-year-old capped off a fine display in Indonesia with a goal against Argentina in the third-place playoff.

Doumbia has put pen to paper on a six-year contract with the Hornets and will officially join his new team-mates at Vicarage Road on July 1.
