Ghana star leaves top Belgian club for MLS giants

Ghana star Joseph Paintsil has completed his permanent transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) giants LA Galaxy.


The five-time MLS champions acquired a 26-year-old attacker from Belgian Pro League club  K.R.C. Genk as a Designated Player.


Paintsil signed a four-year contract through the end of the 2027 MLS season and he will occupy an international roster slot at the Los Angeles-based club.

Paintsil will be added to the Galaxy roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.


The Accra-born player has 15 caps for Ghana having been part of the Black Stars squad at the 2023 AFCON finals in Ivory Coast.
