Nigerian star Alex Iwobi took a subtle dig at Manchester United moments after sealing Fulham FC’s victory on Saturday evening.

The 27-year-old playmaker’s Super Eagles teammate Calvin Bassey opened the scoring in the 65th minute before Harry Maguire grabbed a late equalizing goal in the 89th minute.

However, Iwobi netted in stoppage time to seal Fulham’s 2-1 win at Old Trafford in the Premier League and he revealed they remained confident they could win even after Maguire’s equalizer.

“We always had the ability to create chances, we had so many in the final third,” Iwobi said on the Mirror.

“It was just about taking them and luckily I was able to take mine at the end. I’m over the moon right now to come back into the team and get the win here – there is no better feeling.

“We feel we performed really well and have been performing really well recently, it is just about getting the results. This will give us a world of confidence and hopefully kick on,” he continued.

“Everyone’s emotion is high and we will have to dust down, but it is a confidence boost. It’s a win for the memory bank.”
