Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena has been impressed by the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (FFRIM)’s facilities.

The South African tactician masterminded a 2-0 win over FC Nouadhibou in a CAF Champions League Group A match at the Stade Cheikha Ould Boïdiya in Nouakchott over the weekend.

Mokwena praised FIFA for assisting the FFRIM and lauded Nouadhibou for the hospitality his side received for the duration of the trip.

“The people of Nouadhibou have received us well and we would like to thank them for their hospitality and the treatment we received while we were in Mauritania,” Mokwena said on the club’s website. https://sundownsfc.co.za/coach-rulani-lauds-counterparts-for-great-reception-in-mauritania/

“I’m pleasantly surprised with the facilities and the stadium. I think the praise from FIFA about how the Mauritanian Football Association has utilised the goal funds on the global projects is worthy.

“You can see the investment in the facilities. The sports centre is very fantastic. It’s good to see such and it’s encouraging. Big up to the Mauritanian Football Association and the work that’s been done here is incredible.”
