Mali international Cheick Doucouré has signed a new long-term contract with English Premier League club Crystal Palace.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who was strongly linked with Liverpool FC last year, has signed a new deal with the Eagles which runs until 2029.
After joining from French club RC Lens in 2022, Doucouré played 35 matches and he was voted by supporters as Palace’s 2022/23 Player of the Season.
Doucouré, who completed more tackles and interceptions than any other Palace player in the 2022/23 season, is pleased to have extended his stay at the South London club.
“I’m really happy to commit my future to Crystal Palace – I’ve enjoyed my time here so much already,” Doucouré said on the club’s website.
“We have a great group here, and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch as quickly as possible to play in front of the supporters of this fantastic football club.”
Doucouré is currently nursing a long-term injury.
