SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt revealed that Bradley Grobler was taken to hospital after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday.

Grobler earned Matsatsantsa a point in the Tshwane derby after he scored in the 34th minute to cancel out Teboho Mokoena’s 30th-minute opener at Loftus Versfeld.

However, the 36-year-old striker picked up an injury just before half-time when he went down under a challenge from Divine Lunga inside the box and didn’t appear for the second half.

Hunt felt that his side should have been awarded a penalty for Lunga’s poor tackle on his ace marksman, who is expected to be sidelined for a lengthy spell.

“Yes, it (Grobler’s injury) affected us. I thought it was a penalty and it look like he was kicked from behind,” Hunt said after the game.

“He dislocated his shoulder so he’s gone to the hospital because it didn’t look good. It’s a huge blow because we don’t have depth and we’re struggling there so it was a huge blow for us.”

Grobler took his tally for the season to eight goals, putting him third in the scoring charts behind Khanyisa Mayo (9) and Lucas Ribeiro (10).
