Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo has been named the PSL Player of the Month for February/March and has shown an immense amount of gratitude for the honour.

The midfielder who missed most of the season due to injuries marked his comeback to regular playing action with consistent performances, scoring three goals and providing two assists in crucial victories for Sekhukhune.

Lehlohonolo Seema was also named the Coach of the Month and it’s the first time in the history of the awards that a coach or player for Babina Noko won.

“I’m overwhelmed with excitement. I’m just excited and proud of the accolade that I have just received and for the hard work that I’ve been putting in behind the scenes,” said Mntambo.

The player highlighted that he’s been doing a lot of work with the medical team to get back to full fitness and coming back to contribute to the team’s success.

He also thanked the technical team and his teammates, stating that he would not have received the award if it weren’t for their support. He also thanked God, describing it as “grace and favour” in his life.

“God knew that the injury was part of my success that was coming and it was all working towards my good,” he continued.

“The game is incomplete without the fans. Those guys travel long distances and sometimes they sleep on the roads, hiking to get to our games. So this one also goes out to them.”
