The Nigerian and Zambian Women’s national football teams booked their places at the upcoming 2024 Paris Games following their respective second-leg victories over South African and Morocco on Tuesday night.

With the Atlas Lionesses taking a 2-1 aggregate advantage to the Prince Moulay EL Hassan stadium yesterday, Zambia oversaw a dramatic turnaround which was inspired by the Copper Queen’s captain Barbra Banda.

While Banda evened the scoring in the 38th minute, the game went into extra time where the skipper eventually won and converted a penalty to help guide her nation to Olympic qualification.

Over in South Africa, a 0-0 draw at Loftus Versfeld saw South Africa fall short of qualifying for the Olympics for the second time in succession.

As for Nigeria, their 1-0 aggregate win over Banyana sees them return to the popular showpiece for the first time in 16 years.
