African Stars' Transfer Rumours In Europe: Osimhen, Salah, Guirassy

With the European summer transfer window fast approaching quite a few African players have been linked with big moves.

African Football took the five players who could be on the move as European clubs beef up their squads for the 2024/25 season.

Mikayil Faye

The Senegalese teenager is one of the most pursued youngsters in Europe at the moment with seven clubs have been credited with an interest in FC Barcelona’s talented defender.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund have been named as potential suitors for Faye.

The 19-year-old, who scored on his senior debut for Senegal in March 2024, in a match against Gabon, turns out for Barcelona B side in the Spanish Primera Federación.

Omar Marmoush

The Egyptian attacker, who is on the books of Eintracht Frankfurt, is on the radar of Arsenal and Liverpool according to a German publication, Bild.

Marmoush has produced some eye-catching displays in the Bundesliga this season and it is claimed that he dreams of playing in England, although he will reportedly cost around £43million.

Liverpool are said to be targeting Marmoush as a possible replacement for his compatriot Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside giants.

Serhou Guirassy

The Guinean goalscoring machine has impressively netted 24 goals from 22 matches in the German Bundesliga for VFB Stuttgart this season.

Six clubs have been credited with an interest in Guirassy namely, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old will become available in the summer for €20 million due to a release clause in his contract according to reports coming out of Germany.

Victor Osimhen

The Nigerian superstar is expected to be a hot property in the upcoming transfer window with some of the biggest clubs in Europe having set their sights on him.

Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be keen admirers of Osimhen who is a reliable goalscorer for Italian champions SSC Napoli.

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to have slapped a £170 million price tag on their star striker who is the reigning CAF African Player of the Year.

Mohamed Salah

It has been widely reported that big-name players like the Egypt captain and Virgil van Dijk could follow Jurgen Klopp out of Liverpool in the summer.

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad, who made a £150 million offer last summer for Salah, are now said to be willing to pay at least £70 million to land Salah.

The 31-year-old has one year left on his current contract with Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether the Reds will consider selling Salah to avoid losing him for free next year.
