Dreams FC forward John Antwi has fired a warning shot to Egyptian giants Zamalek ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash.

On Sunday, the two teams will meet in the semi-final first-leg encounter at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt where the 31-year-old played for Al Ahly, Ismailly, Pyramids FC and Misr El-Makasa for almost a decade.

“I had a very good time in Egypt. Matches between Al Ahly and Zamalek are always difficult,” Antwi said on Ghana Soccer Net.

“I played against Zamalek during my time with Al Ahly and other teams and I scored against them too. So, going back to Egypt to play Zamalek is something that delights me”

The experienced forward returned to Ghana in 2023 to join Dreams and he has played a key role in helping the team reach the knockout phase of the tournament and he netted twice against Mali’s Stade Malien in the quarter-finals.

“This campaign has been very good looking at where we are coming from. A small club playing three competitions at the same,” he added.

“I mean we are in the FA Cup quarterfinals and also in the Confederations Cup, God being so good, we are in the semifinal and also in the Ghana league.

“I will say this season has been good for the lads looking at how inexperience they are, so coming this far, I think is very good for the club”
