Both CAF Champions League semi-final ties remain delicately poised after ES Tunis won on home soil and defending champions Ah Ahly drew on their travels in the first-leg encounters.

Al Ahly took a step closer to defending their crown as they denied TP Mazembe a goal in a 0-0 stalemate at the Stade du TP Mazembe on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Eagles have been formidable at home in the competition this season, scoring six goals in four matches and keeping clean sheets in every one of those.

Their one and only previous meeting with the Ravens in Cairo ended in a 2-1 victory for the Egyptian giants in the group stages back in 2012.

ES Tunis also have a slight advantage in their match-up after claiming a 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi on Saturday night.

Yan Sasse scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute to give the Blood and Gold hope of reaching the final for the first time since 2019 when they won the title.

The Tunisian club beat Bafana ba Style 2-1 in South Africa the last time they met on the continental stage during the group stages in 2017.

CAF Champions League semi-finals first-leg results:

TP Mazembe 0-0 Al Ahly

ES Tunis 1-0 Mamelodi Sundowns
