Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town Spurs’ struggles in the DStv Premiership continued as they recorded defeats over the weekend.

Chiefs are now placed 10th in the standings after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Richards Bay side who netted through Simphiwe Mcineka on Sunday.

While Cape Town Spurs’ relegation fears increased after they suffered a 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United on Saturday with Asekho Tiwani scoring a contender for Goal of the Season.

Meanwhile, 1-0 win over AmaZulu FC courtesy of Tshegofatso Mabasa’s late goal saw Orlando Pirates climb up to the second spot in the league standings on Saturday.

However, Stellenbosch leapfrogged Pirates on Sunday after two goals from Fawaaz Basadien and Andre De Jong earned Steve Barker’s side a 2-1 win over TS Galaxy.

Lastly, SuperSport United extended their winless run to nine matches in the league following a 2-0 defeat to Chippa United on Saturday with Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Bienvenu Eva Nga scoring.
