Liverpool legend John Barnes has named two players who he thinks scan replace Mohamed Salah should the Egyptian star leave Melwood at the end of the campaign.

Salah’s immediate future has been a major talking point in European football over the course of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

While Salah is yet to make a decision on his future, Liverpool are expected to undergo a slight rebuild under Arne Slot, who will replace Jurgen Klopp in the coming months. According to Barnes, Liverpool should look to the likes of Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze as replacements for the prolific goal getter.

“Michael Olise could play for Liverpool, City, Arsenal, he could play for any of those clubs Barnes added,” Barnes told My Betting Sites.

“He’s got a great attitude, great ability, he should probably stop showboating like he did against United on Monday, Liverpool would want to knock that out of his game.

“I would say him and Eze are equally as talented but Olise works harder, especially off the ball.

“He can play for any of the big clubs, If Mo were to leave the club and Liverpool wanted to bring in someone to replace him, Eze and Olise are players that I would like to see at the club.”
