Abha Club coach Pitso Mosimane has insisted that he is happy for Al Ahli-Saudi following their Saudi Pro League clash on Saturday.

Franck Kessie of Ivory Coast and Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez were on the score sheet as Al-Ahli thumped Abha 5-1 at the King Abdullah Sports City.

This was Mosimane’s first meeting with his former club, Al-Ahli since FIFA ordered the Jeddah-based side to pay $1,15 million to the South African tactician after he won his ‘unfair dismissal’ case against the team.

Mosimane was in charge of Al-Ahli during the 2022-23 season and helped the team secure promotion back to the Pro League by winning the First Division title.

“Al-Ahli are the one who introduced people here,” Mosimane said on Aawsat.

“And I do not want to talk about financial matters, and I am proud of my work with them

“I am happy with what Al-Ahli has achieved after the difficult last season, and I am happy to see its fans happy.”

Abha are in the relegation zone with two matches left in the Pro League and Mosimane will be eager to guide his side to safety.
