Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has stressed that Nigeria need to bag maximum points in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.

Sitting in 3rd spot in Group C, the Super Eagles are winless in their last three World Cup qualifiers. In preparation for their next assignment, Ndidi and company will face long-time rivals South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on the 7th of June.

With Nigeria running the risk of missing out on the World Cup for the second consecutive time, Ndidi expressed that the Super Eagles have to give it their all when they host South Africa next month.

“Where we are at the moment gives us more pressure, because these games are must-win games. I’m not saying we will win the game but I’m saying they are must-win games,” Ndidi said, as per SportsBrief.

“We don’t know what’s going to happen but it all bores down to us as a team because we know what is at hand and then we know we have to get as much as we can in these two games just to go up there.”
