According to various reports in the media, Ghana striker Inaki Williams could be excluded from the Black Stars upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.

Ghana are scheduled to face Mali on the 6th of June before hosting the Central African Republic on the 10th of June at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Now though, Williams recently went under the knife in fixing up a ‘painful’ scar on his left foot, according to Athletic Bilbao, as per Modern Ghana.

The same report mentions that while Williams’ recovery period remains ‘uncertain’, the popular attacker could well be sidelined for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier assignments next month.

Ghana coach Otto Addo is believed to be eager to include Williams in his side’s upcoming fixtures, with Williams missing clashes against Nigeria and Uganda in March owing to injury.

Williams has been one of Bilbao’s top performers this season, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign. The speedy attacker also claimed the Top African Player award for his showings in LaLiga this past season.
