Central African Republic will attempt to get their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign up and running against Chad at the Municipal Stadium in Oujda, Morocco on Wednesday, June 5.

Kick-off is at 6pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

The Wild Beasts find themselves down in fifth place in Group I after picking up just one point from their opening two qualifiers.

Raoul Savoy’s side suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Comoros on November 17 before putting their first point on the board with a 1-1 draw against Mali three days later.

The Coelacanths top the group on six points so Central African Republic need a result on matchday 3 to keep their qualification hopes alive going into the midway point of the campaign.

Les Sao bring up the rear and already face an uphill task after losing their opening two group games, while conceding six goals in the process and scoring just once.

Kevin Nicaise’s side made the Eagles for their 3-1 victory on November 17, but then slumped to a disappointing 3-0 loss against Madagascar three days later.

It has been 17 years since the two nations last met and they’ve only faced each other twice. Chad ran out 1-0 victors in a friendly on 16 March 2007, just 10 days before their first-ever encounter – a 3-2 win for Les Sao.
