Senegal will lock horns with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Thursday, 6 June.
Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.
The Group B match will be played at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in a Senegalese township called Diamniadio.
The Lions of Teranga were in action on 26 March as they secured a 1-0 victory over Benin in an international friendly match.
Senegal have collected four points from their first two matches in Group B as they recorded a victory over South Sudan before drawing with Togo.
The West African giants are currently placed at the top of the Group B standings, but they are level on points second-placed Sudan.
With Sadio Mane missing due to an injury, Senegal will look to goalscoring attacking midfielder Lamine Camara who scored in the win over South Sudan.
Meanwhile, the last time Congo were in action was at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in February 2024 when they lost to South Africa on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
The Lions have three points from their first two matches in Group B which sees them placed third in the standings having defeated Mauritania before losing to Sudan.
Yoane Wissa – who scored in the win over Mauritania – will be determined to find the back of the net and inspire his nation to a win over Senegal.
In Head-to-Head record, Senegal and Congo have met eight times across all competitions.
Senegal have the upper hand in this rivalry having won five games compared to Congo’s two wins while one game ended in a draw.
