Uganda look to continue Botswana dominance

Uganda will go head to head with Botswana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Friday, 7 June.


Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.


The Group G match will be played at the Mandela National Stadium in the capital and largest city of Uganda, Kampala.


The Cranes of Uganda were last in action on 26 March as they drew 2-2 with Ghana in an international friendly match.


Uganda collected three points from their first two matches in Group G as they suffered a defeat to Guinea before defeating Somalia.


The East African side are currently placed fourth in the Group G standings – three points behind leaders, Algeria.


Having scored the winning goal against Somalia, Rogers Mato will be determined to propel Uganda to another victory.


Meanwhile, the last time Botswana were in action was in an international friendly match against Burundi as the two sides drew 0-0 on 25 March.


The Zebras of Botswana have three points from their first two matches in Group G which sees them placed second in the standings.


Botswana succumbed to a defeat to Mozambique in their first Group G game before they bounced back with a victory over Guinea.



Kabelo Seakanyeng – who netted the winning goal against Guinea, will be keen to find the back of the net again and help his nation secure a win in Uganda.











In Head-to-Head stats, Uganda and Botswana have met five times across all competitions.



Uganda boast of an unbeaten record against Botswana having registered three wins and two draws.
