As nations without a win in the current CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Gambia and Seychelles are aiming to beat their slump when they do battle at Stade Municipal de Berkane on Saturday evening.

Sitting in 5th position in Group F, Gambia commenced their World Cup qualifying bid with a 3-2 defeat against Burundi at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on the 16th of November 2023.
Then, just four days later, the Scorpions suffered a 2-0 loss against Ivory Coast at the same grounds, as goals in either half by Christian Kouame and Seko Fofana piled on Gambia’s miseries.
As a result of their sticky form, Tom Saintfiet left his post as Gambia’s head coach after and was soon replaced by Jonathan McKinstry.
Seychelles on the other hand, go into their third qualifying fixture sitting at the bottom of Group F with a staggering -14 goal difference.
The Pirates faced the mammoth task of taming the Elephants in their first World Cup qualifier but ultimately, suffered a 9-0 defeat at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in the process.
Seychelles then took on Kenya in their subsequent qualifier and recorded a 5-0 loss against Kenya at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny on the 20th of November last year.
