Somalia will battle it out with Botswana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Monday, 10 June.
Kick-off is at 15h00 CAT.
The Group G match will be played at Somalia’s temporary home ground, Estádio do Zimpeto in Maputo, Mozambique.
The Ocean Stars are licking their wounds at the moment having succumbed to a 2-1 loss to Mozambique away on 7 June.
Therefore, Somali remain winless in Group G having lost their first three matches against Algeria, Uganda and Mozambique,
The Ocean Stars are currently placed sixth in the Group G standings – three points behind fifth-placed Botswana.
Having scored his side’s consolation goal against Mozambique, Ismael Shirwa will be looking to inspire Somalia to a surprise win.
Meanwhile, Botswana are also wounded having suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Uganda away on 7 June.
The Zebras of Botswana have three points from their first three matches in Group G which sees them placed fifth in the standings.
Botswana succumbed to a defeat to Mozambique before securing a win over Guinea and a defeat against Uganda followed.
Kabelo Seakanyeng – who netted the winning goal against Guinea – will be determined to score and help the Zebras overcome Somalia.
In Head-to-Head stats, it will be the first-ever meeting between Somalia and Botswana.
