As leaders of Group C in the CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Lesotho could extend their unbeaten run this week when they take on Rwanda at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Kick-off is at 6:00pm CAT

On the back of two consecutive draws in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Lesotho bagged a 2-0 win against Zimbabwe at the Orlando Stadium last week and subsequently moved to the top of Group C.

In facing a star-studded Zimbabwe outfit on the 7th of June, two first-half efforts by Rethabile Rasethunitsa and Jane Thaba-Ntso was enough for Likuena to gain maximum points in Soweto. ‘

While Lesotho accumulated five points after three matches played, Rwanda have been hot on their heels in 2nd place with four points to their tally.

Amavubi suffered a 1-0 defeat against Benin in their latest World Cup qualifying assignment as   Francisco Dokou’s solitary strike separated the two nations at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny on the 6th of June.

Prior to their result against Benin, Rwanda bagged a crucial 2-0 victory against South Africa in a fixture that took place at Stade Huye on the 21st of November 2023.

Then, adding one more point to their name so far, Rwanda and Zimbabwe shared the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifier in mid-November last year.
