Seychelles will aim to end their losing streak in the current CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this week when they take on Burundi at Stade Municipal de Berkane on Tuesday night.
Kick-off is at 9:00pm CAT
While the Swallows claimed maximum points in a 3-2 victory against Gambia in their opening World Cup qualifier in November last year, all has not gone to plan for Burundi since then.
Burundi recorded a 1-1 draw with Kenya in their most recent qualifier, as Mike Abdallah saved the day with an 85th minute leveller at the Bingi National Stadium last week Friday.
The Swallows also jotted down a 2-1 defeat against Gabon during their 2026 World Cup qualifying bid and now head into their next fixture sitting in 4th place after three matches played.
Seychelles on the other hand, are yet to record maximum points in their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Pirates suffered a 5-1 loss against Gambia last time out as Muhammed Badamosi, Musa Barrow, Yankuba Minteh and Adama Sidibeh got their names on the scoresheet for Scorpions at Stade Municipal de Berkane this past weekend.
Before their game against Gambia, Seychelles recorded a 5-0 defeat to Kenya and also a 9-0 loss against Ivory Coast last year. As it stands, the Pirates sit in last position in Group F with a -18 goal difference after three matches played.
