Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane has revealed why he met Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
The Al-Nassr winger has been on vacation since the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League season came to an end last month.
Mane missed the Lions of Teranga’s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against DR Congo and Mauritania due to injury.
The 32-year-old, who has proved to be a philanthropic footballer, has had time to go back to his home country and met Sonko to discuss ‘development’ with the government official.
“Happy with the hearing that PM M. Ousmane Sonko got me this Friday,” Mane wrote on his official Instagram page.
“The discussions revolved around matters of time and development.”
In 2019, Mané donated money to build a school in his hometown of Bambali, Senegal In 2021, the former Liverpool FC and Bayern Munich player donated towards the construction of a hospital in Bambali.
In addition, he has also financed the building of a petrol station and a post office for his local community, supplying the school with free laptops and internet from the 4G internet service he financed in the village.
