Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has expressed how he wants to continue winning and learning as a professional footballer following a turbulent campaign with the Red Devils.

After joining United as a high-profile signing from Inter Milan ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Onana failed to make a first impression at the club, following a series of high-profile mistakes early on in the season.

However, it can be said that the Cameroonian became one of the club’s best players during the second-half of the season and was an integral component to United’s claiming the 2024 FA Cup title earlier this year.

Reflecting on his career path so far, Onana explained the importance of mental strength and that he intends on leaving a positive influence on young people.

“I have my philosophy. I always say that I never lose, I win or learn and that is what I want to leave to the young people,” Onana told Periodico Al Dia, as per the People’s Person.

“For me it will always be important to continue learning and I think that is the most important thing. I want to leave a positive mentality in young people.”

“I come from a very humble family. Football has given me a lot and the advice I can give is to always make an effort and work for what you want.”
