Jean-Eudes Aholou is on the move again after Strasbourg confirmed they have reached an agreement with Angers for his transfer to the newly-promoted Ligue 1 club.
The 30-year-old midfielder – who was born in Yopougon, Ivory Coast – has spent his entire career in France and rejoined Le Racing from Monaco in 2020, initially on loan before making his switch permanent two years later.
Aholou began his professional career at Lille but left for Orleans in 2015 after failing to make a single first-team appearance at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. He then signed for the Alsace outfit in 2017, only to make the move to Monaco after just one season.
The Ivory Coast international struggled to establish himself at the Stade Louis II though, and finally returned to his former employers following a season-long loan spell with Saint-Etienne in 2019-20.
Aholou is now set to begin a new chapter in his career at the Stade Raymond Kopa as Les Scoistes look to avoid an immediate return to Ligue 2, having earned promotion this past season after suffering relegation in 2022-23 following eight years in the top tier of French football.
“Racing and @AngersSCO have reached an agreement for the transfer of @AholouEudes – we wish him all the best in the rest of his career,” Strasbourg announced in a statement on social media.
Aholou last represented his country in March 2023 as he was recalled to the Elephants squad for the first time in five years after being handed his debut against Togo in March 2018.
