Lyon have announced signing of Ernest Nuamah on a permanent transfer from RWD Molenbeek for a free of €28.5 million.
The Ghana international spent last season on loan at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, where he made 33 appearances across all competitions and scored three goals in the process.
Nuamah had only joined RWDM in August 2023 and leaves Belgium without making a single appearance for Yannick Ferrera’s side. He moved to Europe 12 months earlier when Nordsjaelland acquired his services from the Right to Dream academy.
Les Gones decided the activate the release clause in the 20-year-old’s contract following their sister club’s relegation to the Challenger Pro League.
“Olympique Lyonnais announces the definitive acquisition of Ghanaian international striker Ernest Nuamah, from RWDM, for a period of four years, until June 30, 2028. The transfer amount is €28.5 million,” the seven-time French champions said in a statement on their official website.
Nuamah was part of the Black Stars squad that failed to grogress beyond the group stages at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and he recently featured in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali, scoring in a 2-1 win for Otto Addo’s side.
