Antoine Semenyo has been rewarded with a new long-term contract at Bournemouth after making significant strides in his first full season on the south coast.

The Ghana international, who joined the Cherries on a four-year deal from Bristol City in January 2023, played a key role under Andoni Iraola last term as his team achieved a new club record 48 points in the Premier League.

Semenyo also enjoyed his most productive season after scoring eight league goals and providing two assists in 33 appearances to help Iraola’s side finish 12th in the table, just one point outside the top 10.

Bournemouth won the Premier League’s Most Improbable Comeback award for 2023/24 after they overturned a 3-0 deficit to beat Luton 4-3 on 13 March 2024, with the 24-year-old winger bagging a match-winning brace.

Semenyo has now signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2029.

“It has been clear for all to see the rate of Antoine’s development since joining 18 months ago. He has gone from strength to strength, and enjoyed an incredible first full season with us,” Cherries chief executive Neill Blake told the club’s official website.

“Agreeing on a new long-term contract was important for us to recognise his contribution as a key member of our squad, and we’re excited to see this continue for years to come.”
