Al Ittihad in for ‘astronomical’ Salah bid

According to Saudi Arabia Sports Minister, Turki Al Faisal, All Ittihad are looking to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for an ‘astronomical’ amount ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Said to be a popular figure in the Middle East, Salah has long been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. However, the Egyptian star committed his immediate future with the club and is yet to provide clarity on his next move.

According to Al Faisal, Al Ittihad are interested in signing Salah on a one-year loan deal and that they’re awaiting permission from Liverpool to chat to the 32-year-old talisman.

“We received a statement from the club that there is a desire to sign Mohamed Salah. The amount was, of course, astronomical,”Al Faisal said on the Thmanyah podcast, as per Tribal Football.

“The agreement concerned a one-year loan. Salah’s contract was valid (with Liverpool), and therefore we cannot negotiate with him without the club’s permission.

“We asked if there was a desire to release Mohamed Salah and they said no… and this closed the matter because the club does not want to release him.”
