Ghanaian attacker Augustine Boakye is keen to impress in the French Ligue 1 after joining AS Saint Etienne in the current transfer window.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder signed a four-year deal to join the Greens from Austrian outfit Wolfsberger AC where he scored 10 goals in 21 Bundesliga starts.

Boakye, who was nurtured in the West Africa Football Academy, is looking forward to playing in France’s top tier.

“Joining AS Saint-Étienne to discover the French championship is a source of pride,” Boakye told the Etienne’s media department.

“Ligue 1 is a championship that I have always followed and ASSE is an emblematic club. I was able to talk with my friend, Lucas Gourna, who told me a lot of good things about it!

“I can’t wait to discover this great club from the inside and meet its many supporters! ”

Boakye played for West Africa Football Academy in the Ghanaian Premier League, but he is yet to represent his country.
