Etiosa Ighodaro is on the verge of joining yet another South African club as he does not appear to be part of Mamelodi Sundowns’ plans for the upcoming season.
The Nigerian joined the Brazilians in July 2021 from Abuja College, but has spent much of his time on loan at rival clubs since then and was on the books of SuperSport United last term.
Ighodaro scored on his Matsatsantsa debut in a 2-0 win over Richards Bay and went on to feature 34 times across all competitions for Gavin Hunt’s side, bagging eight goals in the process.
The 23-year-old striker subsequently returned to Chloorkop, but was left out of the Sundowns squad for their pre-season tour of Austria and looks set to be farmed out again for the 2024-25 campaign.
According to iDiski Times, his next destination seems to be AmaZulu, who have reached an agreement with Bafana ba Style to sign Ighodaro on a season-long loan.
Usuthu are keen to beef up their striking department following the recent departures of Victor Letsoalo and Augustine Kwem.
