Al Ahly have been dealt a blow as one of their key players, Amr El Solia has been ruled out of action due to a calf injury.
The midfielder has been in good form – scoring three goals in his last five matches in the Egyptian Premier League matches.
Al Ahly are placed second on the 2023/24 league standings – eight points behind leaders, Pyramids, but the former have four matches in hand.
The reigning African and Egyptian champions provided an update on the 34-year-old player.
“Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the doctor of the first football team at Al-Ahly Club, said that the MRI scan that Amr El Solia, the team player, underwent, proved that he had a second-degree strain in the calf muscle,” a club statement read.
“He added that the player started today implementing the physical therapy program specified for him to get rid of the injury, on the sidelines of the team’s group training.
“Al-Ahly is preparing to face Modern Sport team at nine o’clock tomorrow evening, Tuesday, at Cairo Stadium, as part of the postponed matches of the seventeenth round of the Premier League.”
